Forgotten realms demon stone medusa boss1/14/2024 The Pirates world is a little jarring though as it contrasts so much with the rest of the game. There are also a number of new Disney-themed worlds to explore such as Mulan, Tron, and Pirates of the Carrabian. On the other hand, some worlds like the little mermaid have been basically turned into little more than a series of times musical mini-games rather than full worlds to traverse. The previously mentioned Halloween town is now even extended and includes a portal to Christmas world. As in the first game, you do need to complete a on-rails shooter segment before accessing each world but after completing this once your free to come and go from that world.Īs far as I can remember most of the Disney worlds from the original make a return here including favorites such as Halloween town from the nightmare before Christmas. The order you tackle these worlds is mostly linear with more worlds opening up as the game progresses. Sora, Donald, and Goofy by use of a “gummy ship” travel between Disney-themed worlds completing each one, most of the worlds require follow up visits as the game progresses to fully complete. The format is largely similar to the first game. Long story short, after several hours of gameplay you do end up taking control of Sora, the main character from the first game, though he’s a little older now.Īfter getting to play Sora again you are also reunited with your two teammates, Donald and Goofy who both play the same roles as AI-controlled fighter and mage types. To be honest the storyline of these games never really made a lot of sense and is really just a means to combine Square Enix and Disney properties into a videogame anyways. The game starts out with you in control of a different character from the first game but eventually, we discover that he is a “nothing” which is a sort of double created when someone becomes a “heartless”… sometimes. The original game Kingdom Hearts II involves a story where the player character, Sora, travels to multiple worlds based on Disney franchises. I decided it was finally time to finally tackle the second game in the series. I had played and beaten the original Kindom Hearts way back when it was originally released on the PS2 and fairly recently beat the game again in its HD remake form. Obviously, I like to write my posts as soon after completing a game as I can but as of late I’ve fallen quite a bit behind, hence this post may be a little shorter. You’ll have to excuse me as I write this post as it’s been several months since I’ve actually beaten this game.
